In true Expanse-style, we've done it again. This Halloween, we dared to delve into the deep recesses of Internet folklore and a dark entity has come forward.

Because of a resurgence of activity around the towns across The Expanse, an otherworldly force has taken notice. Now the townsfolk have suffered terrible losses: children and other loved ones have gone missing, never to be heard from again. There is no apparent evidence to speak of, no witnesses, no bodies, but foul play is afoot. If you, brave adventurer, can gather your wits about you in hopes of quelling such darkness, it's been said that Iolo Fitzowen in the New Haven inn might possibly have some information.

Staff Note: Slenderman was an idea originally proposed by Elaine, prior to Halloween 2014. Things started simply, but soon the complexity of the project became apparent. In order to bring in the Internet folklore behind Slender, yet still keep the UO-feel, a tremendous amount of creativity was applied. It is the spookiest time you will ever spend playing UO.

Internet Folklore: Slender was a ghost-story/urban legend that started around 2009 by Eric Knudsen and quickly grew a cult following. Stories of the Slender Man commonly feature him stalking, abducting or traumatizing people, particularly children and others claim that investigating the Slender Man will draw his attention. It is depicted as resembling a thin, unnaturally tall man with a blank and usually featureless face, wearing a black suit.
